Quote

Had to post this thing...

"Still, I couldn't help feel pity for the residents of Tel Aviv. Few children were to be seen on the streets, everybody locking their children at home out of fear. Rather than enjoy their lives, they were allowing their own fears to imprison them. Instead of dehumanizing us with the wall and the military oppression, they ended up dehumanizing themselves, like every good colonial occupier who thinks force alone can bring him security. "

That paragraphed genuinely moved me.

redrubin, i'm so glad i found your blogspot. what strikes me most is how extremely close your thoughts on israel are to mine on the states. fear and bombast, a deadly combination...

Ya RR

getting into the israeli discussion is

like stepping into one of those old abandoned

minefields, kiddoos always stepping into generalizations

on one side and stereotyping on the other side.

throw in 'jew baiting' 'anti semitism' and

the other hackneyed public relations

propaganda, and not much discussion

on any issues take place in the

world press. an effort to read

past the foofaraw leads me to

this conclusion! as long as

money and pride are the

real reasons behind this squabble

nothing will be resolved! efforts towards

peace and coexistence need to counter these old

sins with increased information dissemination

and more public dissent stressing the real

issue: that this turmoil and suffering

is profitable to those who sustain it!

Best wishes and blessings to all around you!
